Dr. Erica Linn, DNP

Approach
As a nurse practitioner with nearly a decade of experience, I’ve learned that healing is rarely linear, and that the most meaningful care happens when we take the time to listen, look deeper, and treat the whole person.
My path to integrative and functional medicine began during graduate school, when I faced personal challenges in getting my thyroid condition diagnosed. That experience opened my eyes to the importance of combining conventional tools with a broader, more personalized approach to care. Since then, I’ve devoted my career to helping individuals navigate complex or chronic health issues with curiosity, evidence, and compassion.
My clinical practice focuses on hormonal imbalances, gastrointestinal disorders, autoimmune issues, and thyroid conditions. By providing patients with the right education, practical tools, and a collaborative medical environment, I empower them to take an active role in their health and become advocates for themselves. I’m passionate about helping people overcome medical obstacles, achieve their goals, and live their best lives.
Background
I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of settings, from primary care to behavioral health, and consulting on conditions such as autoimmune disease, chronic infections, cognitive health, and mood disorders. My doctoral work focused on the biology of autism and how practical, holistic strategies can support families in meaningful ways. Most recently, I’ve deepened my focus in mind-body medicine and psychiatry, exploring the intricate connections between our mental, physical, and emotional health.
In addition to my role at Lakeside, I currently provide primary care to patients at Rogers Behavioral Health Center and offer emergency support as a volunteer with the North Shore, South Milwaukee, and Wauwatosa health departments. Since 2022, I’ve also served as President of the Metro Milwaukee Nurse Practitioners Board of Directors.
In my spare time I’m always up for a good cooking or gardening project. I have two busy teenagers. And, I love to read… I accidentally joined two book clubs in 2023. I used to be a bookworm until I joined Audible!
So whether you’re seeking clarity, looking for answers that make sense, or simply want a provider who values both the science and the story, I’m here to support your journey toward wellness.
