Spiced Nuts

BySarah Axtell, ND June 14, 2015

My husband often makes these as a treat in our house. They are delicious and could not be easier. Rather than reach for potato chips when craving something savory, try these Curried Nuts. They are also a great way to incorporate the super-spice, turmeric, in your diet. And when craving something sweet, try the Candied Nuts. They can be eaten as a snack by themselves or added to a salad or on top of soup for a sweet or savory addition to your meal. You can use any nuts of your choice. We typically use walnuts and pecans.

Curried Nuts

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
  • 2 tsps curry powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp turmeric (curry does contain turmeric but we like to make these with even more turmeric to boost the anti-inflammatory effect)

Instructions

In a large glass bowl, pour coconut oil over nuts. Add spices. Mix well. Bake at 315 F for 10 minutes.
