Tired of diets that don’t work? Here is what no one is telling you.

Long-term weight loss requires thinking of your diet as a lifestyle not a quick fix. Mindset, planning, and eating satisfying and satiating foods are all key to sustainable weight loss. Here is what I share with patients:
Love what you eat
It’s all about balance. Eat foods that nourish you and that you actually enjoy. If you’re not loving your meals, it won’t last long-term.
Find a community. You are the sum of who you surround yourself with. One of my goals with group medical visits is facilitating a support network for individuals to best achieve their goals, while showing patients that healthy doesn’t have to be hard and can taste good too.
Progress over perfection
Stop with the “all or nothing” mindset. It’s better to make steady progress with room to enjoy life than to aim for perfection and burn out. At the end of the day it all comes down to sustainability. Healthy habits that are easy to maintain will get you further in the long run. Forget perfectionism—aim for progress!
Fast forgiveness
What makes people successful at weight loss is not whether they get off track. It’s inevitable- you’re human. What makes people successful at weight loss is how fast they get back on track. Be kind to yourself, forgive yourself, and check guilt at the door.
