Live Long: Dr. Axtell’s Mediterranean Masterclass
ByLakeside ND •July 17, 2025
I recently traveled to Greece, immersing myself in the traditional Mediterranean lifestyle. Along the way, I had the privilege of sharing meals and stories with Greece’s vibrant older generations, gaining valuable insights into their timeless wisdom on living well. Now, I’m excited to share my findings with you.
Why the Mediterranean Diet?
The Mediterranean diet is the most well-studied and most evidenced-based diet to prevent chronic disease and all-cause mortality:
- Enhances brain function and reduces the risk of Alzheimer’s
- Reduces the risk of heart disease
- Lowers cholesterol
- Improves blood sugar and insulin sensitivity
- Supports a healthy metabolism and weight
- Decreases the risk of cancer
- Reduces inflammation
Why this Masterclass is Different:
Ditch the confusion! Mediterranean living sometimes gets a bad rep for being complicated, but I’m here to break it down for you. I’ll show you how to effortlessly weave Mediterranean habits into your daily life – no fuss, no noise, just simple, sustainable changes.
Forget the fads and trends. I designed this course based on research, my experience with patients, and my travels…to help you feel your best. Learn how to use food as medicine with practical tools and tips.
This is not a 6-week crash diet. This is something that will last you years or decades. It’s thinking about food in a different way.
Unlike traditional approaches, I emphasize the fundamental skill of cooking. Learn to prepare nourishing meals that contribute to improved energy, less inflammation, sustainable weight loss, decreased cholesterol, and blood sugar stability.
