Medicinal Mushrooms- their Role in Cancer

This review of a meta-analysis study highlights the benefits of the medicinal mushroom, Coriolus versicolor. Cancer patients that took Coriolus had a 9% absolulte reduction in 5-year mortality. The findings were most significant in patients with breast, colorectal and gastric cancers.
Coriolus supports the immune system during and after chemotherapy. To maximize the therapeutic value of Coriolus, it has to be hot water extracted.
In addition to Coriolus, the medicinal muchroom, Reishi, has prominent therapeutic value, especially in cases of breast cancer.
To prevent cancer, eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, especially nutrient-rich green leafy veggies and mushrooms. For supportive complementary care during conventional cancer treatment, consider supplementing with medicinal mushrooms (especially Coriolus).
