What Can the Mediterranean Diet Help With?

The Mediterranean Diet is arguably the healthiest diet on the planet.
It is the best-studied and most evidence-based diet to prevent chronic disease and reduce all cause mortality.
It was first defined 70 years ago when it was noted that people in the Mediterranean regions (particularly poorer parts) had less heart disease and longer life span than people in other parts of the world.
A large body of observational and experimental evidence suggests that higher adherence to the mediterranean diet is associated with lower risk of chronic diseases, including heart disease, Alzheimer’s, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers.
Perhaps most notably, adherence to the Mediterranean diet has been linked to a significant reduction in all-cause mortality (death from any cause), with some studies indicating a decrease in mortality rates by 30% or more.
