Dr. Elyse Carrera, DNP

As a Nurse Practitioner, I help patients navigating hormonal changes, working toward sustainable weight loss, optimizing metabolic health, or simply looking to stay well. I take the time to listen and understand each patient’s unique health story so we can create a personalized plan for long term wellness. By combining evidence-based medicine with a whole-person approach, I strive to help patients feel their best and stay healthy for years to come.

I believe the best healthcare is built on partnership. My goal is to help identify and address the root causes of health concerns while providing patients with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to take an active role in their well-being. My practice focuses on hormone health, menopause and perimenopause, thyroid disorders, metabolic health, cholesterol management, weight loss and GLP-1 therapy, preventive care, lifestyle medicine, and comprehensive lab analysis.

I value collaboration, education, and creating a comfortable environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their health journey.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alverno College and went on to complete my Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. With more than a decade of experience in primary care, I have cared for patients across every stage of life. My background includes years of managing acute and chronic health conditions, preventive care, and interpreting labs to help patients make informed decisions about their health.

My passion for integrative and functional medicine allows me to combine the best of conventional medicine with lifestyle-focused strategies that support lasting wellness.

When I’m not caring for patients, I enjoy cooking, gardening and staying active with my husband and 3 children.

It is truly a privilege to care for my patients, and I look forward to partnering with you to help you achieve your healthiest, most vibrant life.
