Walnuts are a rich source of monounsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids, which supports mental clarity, good focus and optimal cognition.
Besides being high in omegas and monounsaturated fats, they’re high in antioxidants (like vitamin E), and polyphenols, which help block inflammation. A 2022 study found that adding walnuts to the Mediterranean diet increased polyphenols and resulted in brain volume gains over time.
And you get a bonus dose of brain protective polyphenols when you combine walnuts with chocolate!
