Healing Power of Nature- Inspiration from Around the World

🌎 As I reflect on my time in Greece, I’m struck by the stark contrast between their approach to health and ours in America. While we’re fed a cycle of prescription meds and processed foods, other cultures are tapping into the healing power of nature, community, and whole foods. Here are just a few examples:

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· Greece: When you’re sick, doctors prescribe a swim in the sea.

When you have high cholesterol, you’re told to eat bitter foods, beans, and olive oil.

When you have a sore throat, you drink mountain tea with honey

When you’re depressed, you go dancing and sing in the streets.

πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ Japan: Forest bathing is a doctor-recommended stress reliever.

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ British Columbia: Doctors prescribe nature park passes to promote mental health.

It’s striking to see how other countries prioritize healthcare, focusing on prevention and wellness, while the US often focuses on sick care, treating symptoms rather than root causes. Let’s take a cue from these cultures and shift our approach to one that truly prioritizes health and happiness πŸ™Œ

Nature heals. Community heals.

Let’s normalize it.
