Dr. Mackenzie Prentice, DNP, APNP
As a Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner (DNP), I provide integrative medicine consultations and primary care for adults. My experience in the conventional medicine world has given me a unique skill set to use an all-inclusive approach to identifying the root cause of your chronic condition or symptoms. We can work together to develop a personalized plan with evidence-based tools and resources to optimize your health and overall quality of life.
My practice focuses on integrative primary care, digestive disorders, weight loss, thyroid conditions, and holistic cholesterol management. My goal is to teach you ways to bring your health to an optimal level while also supporting you in becoming confident in having agency over your own health. Think of me as your co-pilot, guiding you to what your version of optimal health is.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a bachelor’s of science in Nursing. After working as a registered nurse in hospital mainstream medical clinic, I was inspired by my own healing journey to change course toward the functional medicine path. Integrative medicine and natural wellness quickly became my passion. I completed training as a functional medicine provider in immune health, cardiometabolic health, hormone health through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
I then went on to earn my Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Marquette University, where I focused on integrative medicine specialties. I am currently licensed as a Doctor of Nursing Practice and an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber.
In my free time you can find me outdoors, golfing, hiking, running, or spending time at the lake.
The process of health optimization is a lifelong journey and one that can truly change your life in the best way. I am committed to and honored to be a part of your wellness journey.
